HALCERT promotes cooperation at Thailand Halal Assembly 2024

From December 19 to 20, 2024, representatives from the Vietnam Halal Certification Authority (HALCERT) and the Vietnam Certification Center (QUACERT) participated in the Vietnamese delegation attending the Thailand Halal Assembly 2024 (THA2024), held at the Al Meroz Hotel in Bangkok. The event, themed “Toward Halal Trust Through Digital Technology 2AIs,” was organized by the Halal Science Center of Chulalongkorn University in collaboration with the Central Islamic Council of Thailand (CICOT).

THA2024 is a premier forum that brings together Halal certification organizations, industry experts, and policymakers from the region to discuss advancements and opportunities in the Halal sector.

Strengthening Regional Cooperation in Halal Certification

HALCERT’s participation demonstrates Vietnam’s commitment to promoting regional cooperation in developing a comprehensive Halal ecosystem. At the conference, HALCERT representatives engaged with key partners to discuss mutual recognition of Halal certifications, aiming to facilitate trade and expand markets for Vietnamese Halal products. The event underscored the importance of cross-border collaboration to ensure consistent and reliable Halal standards across Southeast Asia.

The Vietnamese delegation included leaders from QUACERT, HALCERT, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attending the conference.

Promoting Vietnam’s Halal Potential

At THA2024, HALCERT showcased Vietnam’s achievements in the Halal industry, including Halal-certified products such as seafood, agricultural goods, and processed foods that meet international standards. HALCERT reaffirmed its role as a trusted partner for businesses seeking to enter the expanding global Halal market, projected to exceed $2 trillion by 2030. Additionally, HALCERT presented initiatives to develop Muslim-friendly services in the tourism and hospitality sectors, identified as key growth drivers for the Halal economy.

Looking Ahead: Promoting Regional Integration

The Thailand Halal Assembly provided a valuable opportunity for HALCERT to strengthen relationships with regional partners, including CICOT and other Halal authorities. These partnerships are expected to create a more integrated and harmonized Halal ecosystem in Southeast Asia, benefiting both businesses and consumers. With a mission to advance the Halal industry in Vietnam, HALCERT’s active participation in regional events like THA2024 reaffirms its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, transparency, and collaboration.
